ABOUT

desire to educate

I have instructed courses in First Aid & CPR for Red Cross and St. John Ambulance in Alberta for the past 2 decades, establishing my own business as an instructor and mentor in 2008.
I received the idea for teaching First Aid & CPR after taking a Standard First Aid course here in Calgary Alberta for my own personal interest. I left this course feeling so frustrated with the instruction given, I said to myself, “I can deliver a more effective course than this teacher.”; so I pursued the Instructor Development program becoming an Instructor in 2005. I vowed then never to deliver an ‘all about my experience’ type of course but to stick to the course outlines. Through demonstrations and props, I wanted to lean more towards the adult learner and deliver an easy to comprehend course, building on content first learned to achieve a greater understanding. I continued to develop my skills, knowledge in adult education and mentor new instructors over the next few decades.

I am excited to build upon the success I have already experienced as an instructor with your company.
